Why Ceramic Works
Ceramic engines increase fuel efficiency and reduce harmonic distortion (engine vibration and noise). CERMA with STM-3™ provides comparable results while eliminating the need for frequent oil changes.

The ceramic materials in CERMA with STM-3™ seal the combustion chamber, immunizing against "blow by" and the formation of the destructive carbon and acids that otherwise occur when burning fuel.
In the conventional metallic engine, much of the energy released during fuel combustion is dissipated as “waste-heat” in order to prevent the meltdown of metallic parts. In the ceramic engine, the generated heat is not only contained, but also utilized, making for greater efficiency. Despite their desirable properties, however, ceramic engines are cost prohibitive, and are not in production today.

At Cerma Marine, we didn’t give up on the idea. Despite being cost prohibitive, we understood the true value of the ceramic engine. We knew there had to be an affordable solution. So we asked ourselves...
